a hospital is a hospital is a hospital...mostly
i've just finished my first full week at the pit. as with any institution red tape runs amuck. "WE don't do that here at THE PIT...." "oh no...you can't do it like that...." i heard the word "policy" so much this week i actually had nightmares about it...headless body staggering through a dark foggy alley mumbling pah-LUH-see. i understand the need for a certain amount of red tape. really i do. my problem with it is it's never applied properly. for example, i'd think in a perfect world that "the man" would be less concerned about the organization of my back table and be a little more concerned that nurses that have been under his charge for decades have NO concept of sterility. how warped is my mind? Cause in the real world my organizational skills are under supreme scrutiny and those nurses are paid an extra buck an hour to "train" the new help.
