i hate it when i'm stupid 

i have a hard time tolerating stupidity in others. so when the planets misalign or karma gets it's drawers in a knot and i actually have a stupid day, it damn near makes me crazy. i mean send the guys in the white coats crazy. the avert your eyes and pretend you don't notice the woman who's obviously forgotten to take her meds crazy. it's not pretty. well...i can think of a few people who might see the beauty in me having a moment like that but not nearly as much as i'd enjoy their pathetic lives coming to an abrupt halt so i don't have to continue to share oxygen with them. but i digress.... today i had one of those days. at least one of those evenings. i spent the better part of last night cussing the dial up hell i live in as i battled my ISP to install microsoft's latest spyware application. and of course i won...granted, it was at 3am but still i was victorious. now hind sight and even what little foresight i had at that hour told me i should just be happy that it was indeed successfully downloaded and installed and that i shouldn't bother running it until i'd had at least a few hours of sleep. the fact that i mentioned hindsight in that last sentence should tell you that i acted contrary to my gut instinct. as stupid as that in itself is, it did get worse. in my sleep deprived and more than mildly irritated state, simply running a scan for the evil spyware bastards i knew were lurking somewhere in the bowels of my hard drive wasn't enough. oh no. not nearly enough. i also had to dive into the advanced tools section and erase footprints that the spyware devils look for and in doing so inadvertently checked a box that deleted files that i needed or at the very least wanted. pages of CSS and HTML code gone in the blink of an eye. hours and hours of typing and testing and photo editing sucked up into the black hole of no return. so it's back to the drawing board and this time i'll back everything up.
